Christmas Coloring Pages
These free printable Christmas coloring pages follow the season from the first snowfall to Christmas Eve. Santa Claus waves next to a decorated tree, flies his sleigh over snowy rooftops under the moon and stars, steps out of the fireplace with his gift sack and kneels to slip a present under the tree. On a quieter page he sits back in his armchair with a big book and his reading glasses. For a whole set of Santa scenes, see the Santa coloring pages. A Christmas elf ties a bow on a gift at a workbench full of ribbon spools, scissors and tape, and the scout elf has a set of its own in the Elf on the Shelf coloring pages.

Outside, a snowman in a top hat waves in a snowy yard, another skates across a frozen pond in a knit hat and mittens, and a third stands next to a snowball and a wooden sled. One reindeer wears a bow on its antler in a snowy forest, and another rests in the snow beside a stack of presents. A gingerbread man jumps for joy among candy canes and peppermints.
Some pages have no characters at all: ornaments hanging from a pine branch, three stockings on the fireplace, a wreath on the front door, a gingerbread house with a candy cane doorway, a pile of wrapped presents, two bells tied with holly, a plate of cookies and a glass of milk left out for Santa and a mug of hot cocoa with marshmallows. For more holiday fun, try the Grinch coloring pages or, in spring, the Easter Bunny coloring pages.
How to print these Christmas coloring pages
Click the Download button under any picture to save it, then print it on standard letter paper. The pages are portrait and sized to fill the sheet, so pick fit to page in your print settings. Plain white paper is fine for crayons and colored pencils; light cardstock holds up better for markers and makes a sturdier homemade card or gift tag.
Coloring ideas
Give Santa his classic red suit with white fur trim and a black belt, or try a green or blue suit for a change. Color the tree green and make every ornament and light bulb a different color. For a whole set of decorated trees, see the Christmas tree coloring pages. Gift wrap is a good place for patterns: add stripes, dots or stars to each box. Snowmen look great with bright scarves and an orange carrot nose, and the gingerbread pieces can be brown with white icing.
Who these pages are for
The simpler pages, like the bells, the hot cocoa mug and the snowman waving in the snow, have large open shapes that are quick to fill and suit preschoolers and early elementary kids. The busier pages, such as the pile of presents, the brick fireplace and the elf’s workbench, have more small pieces for older kids and adults who want a longer, relaxing session during the holidays. Parents and teachers can print as many copies as they need for home, a class party or a holiday break.
Frequently asked questions
Are these Christmas coloring pages free?
Yes. Every page on this site is free to download and print for personal, classroom, church or library use. Please do not resell the files or upload them elsewhere.
What size do the pages print at?
They are portrait images sized for standard US letter paper (8.5 by 11 inches) and also fit A4. Choose fit to page in your print dialog if your printer adds margins.
What colors is Santa's suit?
Santa is usually shown in a red suit with white fur trim, a black belt with a gold buckle and black boots. On these pages every part is left open, so you can color him the classic way or pick your own colors.
Is there a Santa Claus coloring page?
Yes. Santa appears on several pages: waving by the tree, flying his sleigh over the rooftops, stepping out of the fireplace with his sack, putting a gift under the tree and reading in his armchair. There is also a page of cookies and milk left out for him, and the Santa coloring pages have many more scenes of him.
Are there Christmas pages without characters?
Yes. The ornaments, stockings, wreath, gingerbread house, presents, bells, cookies and hot cocoa pages have no characters, so they work well for cards, decorations and quick coloring breaks.
Can I use these for a classroom Christmas party?
Yes. Print as many copies as you need for your students. They make a good activity for the last days before winter break. The only thing we ask is that the files stay on this site rather than being redistributed.
